Importance of recycling
The world's resources are not endless. As we write in our policy, we treat this not as a slogan but as an environmental duty we leave to the next generation.
Why should bottles be recycled?
When an end-of-life 19-litre bottle goes to landfill it takes space and the energy already in it is wasted. The same material as flake lowers the oil and energy input of a new product.
Waste hierarchy
- First reduce generation (needless mixed containers, broken stock)
- Then separate at source
- Finally recover
Our work is the last two steps: on-site collection, sorting, recovery. Saving energy, water and paper and avoiding a high carbon impact are stated clearly in our policy.
Value for the corporate buyer
Licensed handover, a weigh record and documents are worth more in an audit than the sentence “it went on the scrap truck”. For a water plant and warehouse this builds both an environmental and a regulatory file.
